15	19		WHEREAS, Charles C. Pace, an honorable veteran, esteemed educator and public servant, and beloved father and member of the Charlottesville community, died on December 18, 2024; and

17		-	WHEREAS, born in Hampton, Charles Chuck C. Pace graduated from Charlottesville High School in 1978 before earning a degree from the Virginia Military Institute in 1982 and serving his country with honor and distinction as a member of the United States Navy; and

19	23		WHEREAS, following his service, Chuck Pace discovered his life's purpose when he began teaching at Blue Ridge School in Saint George; he would go on to teach biology and chemistry at Albemarle High School for many years and to serve as the science instructional coordinator for Albemarle County Public Schools for 11 years before returning to Blue Ridge School, where he retired in 2022; and

21	25		WHEREAS, over his remarkable 39-year career as an educator and coach, Chuck Pace worked tirelessly to support his students and fellow faculty, contributing greatly to their success both in and out of the classroom; and

23	27		WHEREAS, from 1982 to 2001, Chuck Pace contributed to the safety and security of the nation as an intelligence officer in the United States Naval Reserve, retiring as a commander; and

25	29		WHEREAS, Chuck Pace was appointed in 2023 and later elected to serve as the Rio District representative on the Albemarle County School Board, a responsibility that he devoted himself to fully for the benefit of the students and families of Albemarle County; and

27	31		WHEREAS, Chuck Pace was the consummate family man who embraced every opportunity to spend quality time with his wife and children, aiding them in their pursuits and cheering them on along every step of the way; and

29	33		WHEREAS, Chuck Pace will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his loving wife of 34 years, Anne Marie; his children, Madeleine, Callie, Robert, and Laura; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

31	35		RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Charles C. Pace, a treasured member of the Charlottesville community whose dedication and legacy of service inspired all who knew him; and, be it

33	37		RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Charles C. Pace as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
