2025 SESSION ENROLLED HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 612 Celebrating the life of Lloyd W. Enoch. Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 10, 2025 Agreed to by the Senate, February 13, 2025 WHEREAS, Lloyd W. Enoch, an honorable veteran, esteemed educator, dedicated philanthropist, and beloved member of the Roanoke City community, died on June 1, 2024; and WHEREAS, born and raised in West Virginia, Lloyd Enoch earned a bachelor's degree from Fairmont State College and a master's degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University before serving his country with honor and distinction as a cryptographer with the United States Army in Japan; and WHEREAS, following his service, Lloyd Enoch devoted more than 40 years to the growth and development of young people as an educator with Roanoke City Public Schools; and WHEREAS, in his role as director of career and technical education, Lloyd Enoch helped countless students prepare themselves for meaningful and productive careers and success beyond the classroom; and WHEREAS, as a testament to his lasting impact, the Lloyd Enoch Social Gathering Area and Courtyard at the Charles W. Day Technical Education Center in Roanoke was named in his honor in 2024; and WHEREAS, Lloyd Enoch gave abundantly of his time for the benefit of others as a longtime member of the Kiwanis Club of Roanoke, where he served as president and secretary-treasurer in addition to two terms as lieutenant governor of Division 15; and WHEREAS, in recognition of his efforts and generosity, Lloyd Enoch was presented a Kiwanis International George F. Hixson Fellowship Award, one of the foundation's highest honors; and WHEREAS, Lloyd Enoch will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his loving wife, Rita; his son, Lloyd Jr., and his son by marriage, Jason, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Lloyd W. Enoch, a treasured member of the Roanoke community whose dedication and service inspired all who knew him; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Lloyd W. Enoch as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
