Commending the Substance Abuse and Addiction Recovery Alliance of Virginia.

WHEREAS, the Substance Abuse and Addiction Recovery Alliance of Virginia, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for and supporting individuals and families affected by substance use disorder, celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2025; and
WHEREAS, founded in 1995, the Substance Abuse and Addiction Recovery Alliance of Virginia (SAARA of Virginia) has tirelessly worked to promote recovery, education, and prevention initiatives throughout the Commonwealth, supporting the needs of countless individuals in their journey to overcome addiction; and
WHEREAS, over the past three decades, SAARA of Virginia has become a leading voice in substance use disorder advocacy, providing critical services and programs that empower communities to address the challenges of addiction; and
WHEREAS, SAARA of Virginia collaborates with health care providers, local organizations, and policymakers to advocate for effective treatment, recovery supports, and equitable access to care for all Virginians affected by substance use disorder; and
WHEREAS, SAARA of Virginia has developed strong networks across the state, fostering peer support and educational programs that reduce the stigma of addiction and encourage long-term recovery; and
WHEREAS, in its 30 years of service, SAARA of Virginia has significantly contributed to the health and well-being of individuals and families in the Commonwealth by ensuring that those battling addiction have access to the resources and support needed to achieve recovery; and
WHEREAS, the dedicated staff, volunteers, and supporters of SAARA of Virginia have worked with unwavering commitment to advocate for substance use disorder recovery, saving lives and restoring hope to many families; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Substance Abuse and Addiction Recovery Alliance of Virginia on the occasion of its 30th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Substance Abuse and Addiction Recovery Alliance of Virginia as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the organization's invaluable contributions to the Commonwealth and its citizens.
