2025 SESSION ENROLLED HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 698 Celebrating the life of Jake Kincaid. Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 18, 2025 Agreed to by the Senate, February 20, 2025 WHEREAS, Jake Kincaid, an esteemed firefighter and emergency services technician, beloved husband, father, and son, and cherished member of the Russell County community, died on February 3, 2025; and WHEREAS, born in Raleigh, Jake Kincaid graduated from Honaker High School in 2005 before embarking on a career as a coal miner that would span more than 15 years; and WHEREAS, Jake Kincaid discovered his passion for emergency medicine and worked tirelessly as a member of the New Garden Rescue Squad, Richlands FireRescue, ProMed, and several other area agencies; and WHEREAS, Jake Kincaid devoted himself to the safety and security of his community as a firefighter and emergency services technician and made an impact on countless lives; and WHEREAS, Jake Kincaid's pastimes included hunting, fishing, working on trucks, listening to music, playing guitar, and bull riding, but his greatest joy in life was spending quality time with his family; and WHEREAS, Jake Kincaid will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his loving wife of five years, Amanda; his children, Jayden, Parson, Jenson, and Ripley; his mother and stepfather, Angie and Dennis; his father, Jim; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Jake Kincaid, a treasured member of the Russell County community whose dedication and legacy of service inspired all who knew him; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Jake Kincaid as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
