1519 WHEREAS, Donna T. Rogers, a respected Loudoun County farmer, equestrian, conservationist, and member of the Master of Foxhounds Association of North America, has made many notable contributions to Loudoun County and the Commonwealth; and

1721 WHEREAS, Donna Rogers and her husband, Joseph, directly and indirectly encouraged the placement of conservation easements on more than 5,000 contiguous acres in the Hamilton area of Loudoun County; the couple also worked together to establish and support the Goose Creek Historic District; and

1923 WHEREAS, after her husband's death in 2014, Donna Rogers continued his legacy of service to the farming community and continued promoting the preservation of open space; and

2125 WHEREAS, Donna Rogers served in numerous organizations promoting the preservation of open space, the equestrian industry, and public involvement in zoning issues in Loudoun County, notably Scenic Loudoun Legal Defense, which she helped found; and

2327 WHEREAS, Donna Rogers supports future generations of farmers through her guidance and encouragement and has worked to ensure that agricultural education includes best practices for sustainable and conservation-led farming practices; and

2529 WHEREAS, Donna Rogers has also supported young farmers' activities in the Loudoun County 4-H club and at the Loudoun County Fair; and

2731 WHEREAS, in addition, Donna Rogers was a superb horsewoman, rode steeplechase racehorses, bred and trained thoroughbred racehorses, and served as master of the Loudoun Hunt West and as master of the Loudoun Fairfax Hunt, leading riders in spectacular fashion over the course of 20 years; and

2933 WHEREAS, Donna Rogers was a founder and active supporter of the Museum of Hounds and Hunting North America, located in Morven Park and Middleburg; and

3135 WHEREAS, Donna Rogers played an instrumental role in the establishment of the Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center in Leesburg; and

3337 WHEREAS, Donna Rogers served on Loudoun County Economic Development as the organization's first representative for rural equine interests; and

3539 WHEREAS, Donna Rogers was one of the first women to serve on the Blue Ridge Cattlemen's Association and was one of the founders of the Virginia Horsemen's Association; she has been an active member of the Virginia Steeplechase Association, the National Steeplechase Association, and the Catoctin Farmers' Club, which chronicles more than 100 years of farming in Loudoun County; and

3741 WHEREAS, as a member of the Loudoun County Equine Alliance, Donna Rogers worked to open equestrian access to local parks and encouraged the expansion of power lines away from preserved conservation areas; now, therefore, be it

3943 RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Donna T. Rogers on her longstanding legacy of conservation, preservation, agriculture, and advancing equine sports at the local, state, and national levels; and, be it

4145 RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Donna T. Rogers as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for her exceptional contributions to the Commonwealth and the equine community and her steadfast commitment to preserving open spaces and historical sites.
