HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 744
Commending the Center at Belvedere.

WHEREAS, in 2025, the Center at Belvedere, a nonprofit organization in Charlottesville providing a welcoming space for older adults to age healthily, celebrates its 65th anniversary; and
WHEREAS, established in 1960, the Center at Belvedere creates opportunities for healthy aging by promoting social engagement, physical well-being, civic involvement, creativity, and lifelong learning; and
WHEREAS, the Center at Belvedere has six decades of service and recognizes the individuals who have contributed to its success; and
WHEREAS, the Center at Belvedere is launching a new pilot program aimed at expanding its reach and raising awareness of its services; and
WHEREAS, the Center at Belvedere is committed to creating an environment that is welcoming, just, equitable, and inclusive without biases or discrimination based on differences of any kind; and
WHEREAS, the Center at Belvedere is dedicated to working to extend healthy life expectancy and quality of life for everyone; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Center at Belvedere on the occasion of its 65th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Center at Belvedere as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for its contributions to Charlottesville and the Commonwealth.
