1519 WHEREAS, the Charlottesville-Albemarle Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, founded in 1914, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection of animals; and

1721 WHEREAS, the Charlottesville-Albemarle Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), has been a no-kill shelter since 2006, maintaining a 90 percent live release rate; and

1923 WHEREAS, the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA is dedicated to advancing the humane treatment of dogs and cats by providing comprehensive sheltering, medical care, and behavioral support; and

2731 RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Charlottesville-Albemarle Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals on the occasion of its 110th anniversary; and, be it

2933 RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Charlottesville-Albemarle Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the organization's legacy of service to animals and contributions to pet owners in the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County.
