HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 752

Commending Christian Parker.

WHEREAS, Christian Parker, a native of the Commonwealth and the defensive passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League, helped his team win Super Bowl LIX on February 9, 2025; and

WHEREAS, after moving from the Richmond area to Prince William County in his sophomore year of high school, Christian Parker joined the Battlefield High School football team and contributed to the program's first district championship title in 2007 and another title two years later; and

WHEREAS, a walk-on with the University of Richmond football team, Christian Parker displayed extraordinary talent and grit on the gridiron, securing a scholarship by his senior year; and

WHEREAS, after graduation, Christian Parker joined the Virginia State University football program as a graduate assistant and was quickly promoted to secondary coach and recruiting coordinator; and

WHEREAS, between 2015 and 2018, Christian Parker served as the defensive backs coach and recruiting coordinator at Norfolk State University, the cornerbacks coach at The College of William & Mary, and a defense analyst at the University of Notre Dame and Texas A&M University; and

WHEREAS, Christian Parker entered the National Football League in 2019 as the defensive quality control coach for the Green Bay Packers and two years later became the defensive backs coach for the Denver Broncos; and

WHEREAS, in 2024, Christian Parker became the defensive passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, and he played an instrumental role in transforming the team's passing defense from one of the worst in the league to one of the best over the course of one season; and

WHEREAS, Christian Parker's accomplishments are a testament to his leadership, character, integrity, and hard work and have brought great pride to the Commonwealth; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Christian Parker for leading the Philadelphia Eagles to victory in Super Bowl LIX; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Christian Parker as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for his achievements and best wishes for his continued success.
