1519 WHEREAS, Ken Luersen, an esteemed public servant, retired from his position as mayor of the Town of Haymarket in 2024; and

1721 WHEREAS, a resident of Haymarket since 2001, Ken Luersen served on the Town of Haymarket's Architectural Review Board for more than 10 years, including as chair, where he helped ensure the preservation of the town's historic buildings and places; and

1923 WHEREAS, Ken Luersen was elected mayor of the Town of Haymarket in November 2020, and served the locality as its chief elected official until November 2024; and

2125 WHEREAS, in his capacity as mayor, Ken Luersen worked tirelessly to promote the success and prosperity of Haymarket, enhancing the quality of life for the town's residents and visitors; and

23-WHEREAS, Ken Luersen holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a master's degree in information technology (IT) from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and has more than 35 years of experience as a contractor in the IT industry; and

3135 RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Ken Luersen on the occasion of his retirement as mayor of the Town of Haymarket; and, be it

3337 RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Ken Luersen as an expression of the General Assembly's high regard for his legacy of service and best wishes for his future endeavors.
