1321 WHEREAS, Charlie Frye, Jr., an esteemed public servant, has made an impact on countless lives in the communities of Fredericksburg and Mayfield; and

1523 WHEREAS, Charlie Frye is a longtime resident of the Mayfield neighborhood in Fredericksburg, where he currently resides with his wife, Dr. Kisha White Frye, and his children, Ta'Nesha, Charlie III, and Kamron; and

1725 WHEREAS, for more than 23 years, Charlie Frye has been a hardworking and reliable employee at the United Parcel Service, earning a number of accolades and awards for his dependability and commitment to safety; and

1927 WHEREAS, Charlie Frye gives generously of his time to support his fellow residents in Mayfield, assisting senior citizens and homebound individuals and developing community events for the benefit and enjoyment of local youth, including the cherished Block Party summer celebration and regular movie nights; and

2129 WHEREAS, Charlie Frye is a devoted mentor who has worked tirelessly to help young people on their educational journeys, contributing greatly to their success both in and out of the classroom; and

2331 WHEREAS, since 2014, Charlie Frye has proudly represented the citizens of Ward 4 as a member of the Fredericksburg City Council; in 2020, he was unanimously elected by his fellow councilmembers to serve as the city's vice mayor; and

2533 WHEREAS, Charlie Frye has spearheaded several worthwhile local initiatives during his time with the Fredericksburg City Council, including the removal of the slave auction block in downtown Fredericksburg, a gun give-back program, the naming of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Bridge, and the Midnight Madness youth program; and

2735 WHEREAS, Charlie Frye's leadership, passion, and dedication to serving others has helped to make Fredericksburg a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it

2937 RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Charlie Frye, Jr., hereby be commended for his upstanding service in the communities of Mayfield and Fredericksburg; and, be it
