1319 WHEREAS, Crystal Michelle Kestner, a respected educator, accomplished athlete, and beloved member of the Saltville community, died on December 4, 2024; and

1521 WHEREAS, born and raised in Saltville, Crystal Kestner graduated from Northwood High School, where she led the varsity volleyball team to a state championship and the varsity basketball team to a regional championship; and

1723 WHEREAS, Crystal Kestner continued her educational journey by earning bachelor's degrees in both mathematics and computer science from Concord University in 2002, while also excelling with the school's track, basketball, and softball teams throughout all four years of school; and

1925 WHEREAS, in recognition of her noteworthy achievements, Crystal Kestner was inducted into the Concord University Sports Hall of Fame in 2013 and the Smyth County Sports Hall of Fame in 2023; and

2127 WHEREAS, in her professional career, Crystal Kestner was a devoted educator at Marion High School and Marion Middle School for many years, teaching algebra and technology and assisting students as both a coach and mentor; and
