1319 WHEREAS, the Princess Anne High School girls' basketball team of Virginia Beach won the Virginia High School League Class 5 state championship at Virginia Commonwealth University's Stuart C. Siegel Center in Richmond on March 9, 2024; and

1521 WHEREAS, the Princess Anne High School Cavaliers defeated the James River High School Rapids of Midlothian by a score of 8070 to bring home the program's 14th state championship title and its 10th title in 11 years; and

1723 WHEREAS, the Princess Anne Cavaliers went into halftime with the score tied 3838 and saw their lead dwindle to 6362 in the third quarter, but the team persevered and held on for the win; and

1925 WHEREAS, the Princess Anne Cavaliers put forth a total team effort to secure the victory, led by impressive shooting from freshman Micah Ojo, who had 31 points; and

2531 RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Princess Anne High School girls' basketball team hereby be commended for winning the 2024 Virginia High School League Class 5 state championship; and, be it

2733 RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Darnell Dozier, head coach of the Princess Anne High School girls' basketball team, as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for their success.
