2025 SESSION ENROLLED HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 518 Commending St. Francis Episcopal Church. Agreed to by the House of Delegates, January 27, 2025 WHEREAS, for 61 years, St. Francis Episcopal Church of Virginia Beach has provided its members with uplifting spiritual guidance, occasions for joyful worship, and opportunities for generous community outreach; and WHEREAS, St. Francis Episcopal Church is a parish in the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia and is associated with the Anglican Communion, the third largest Christian communion in the world; and WHEREAS, St. Francis Episcopal Church has been led by several accomplished pastors over its history, including its current priest-in-charge, the Reverend Mark D. Riley, all of whom have provided enlightened counsel to the church's members while remaining dedicated to ensuring the church's prosperity and longevity; and WHEREAS, St. Francis Episcopal Church has organized a number of missions, educational endeavors, and charitable activities to help its members grow in their faith and to benefit the community; and WHEREAS, over the past 61 years, St. Francis Episcopal Church has been a spiritual home for the many individuals who have sought solace and a greater sense of purpose within its walls; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That St. Francis Episcopal Church hereby be commended on the occasion of its 61st anniversary; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to St. Francis Episcopal Church as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the church's history and its contributions to the Commonwealth.
