HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 539
Commending Jeffrey C. Greenfield.
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, January 28, 2025
WHEREAS, Jeffrey C. Greenfield, a distinguished public servant and community leader, concluded his tenure on the Fairfax City Council on December 31, 2024; and
WHEREAS, Jeffrey Greenfield is a lifelong resident of the City of Fairfax who graduated from Fairfax High School and earned a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in public administration from George Mason University; and
WHEREAS, Jeffrey Greenfield is a small business owner and notably the first alumnus of George Mason University to serve on the Fairfax City Council; and
WHEREAS, Jeffrey Greenfield faithfully served the residents of the City of Fairfax over 13 terms on the Fairfax City Council, working tirelessly to ensure the community's health, prosperity, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, Jeffrey Greenfield has fostered the City of Fairfax's growth and development as a member of the city's Bond Referendum Task Force in 1993, as vice chair of the Fairfax 2020 Commission and member of that committee's Economic Development Subcommittee, and as vice chair of both the city's Park and Recreation Advisory Board and the Task Force for a More Livable City of Fairfax; and
WHEREAS, Jeffrey Greenfield has made an impact across the Northern Virginia Region through his service on a number of boards and commissions, including the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission, the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority, and the local emergency planning committee; and
WHEREAS, Jeffrey Greenfield's dedication to regional cooperation extended to his work with the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, including membership on its board of directors, Metropolitan Development Policy Committee, and Human Services and Public Safety Committee; and
WHEREAS, through his integrity, work ethic, and unwavering commitment to the well-being of others, Jeffrey Greenfield has helped to make Fairfax City a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Jeffrey C. Greenfield hereby be commended as he concludes his tenure on the Fairfax City Council; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Jeffrey C. Greenfield as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his contributions to Fairfax City and the Commonwealth and best wishes for his future endeavors.
