HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 551
Commending Cool Stuff.
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 3, 2025
WHEREAS, Cool Stuff, an affiliate of Video Game Heaven in Virginia Beach, has supported numerous fandoms by offering a wide range of collectibles and other memorabilia, in addition to gaming merchandise; and
WHEREAS, Video Game Heaven was founded by Tami Leary in 1994 and has grown from a small flea market stall selling Nintendo games to a thriving business with three locations in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Chesapeake; and
WHEREAS, Cool Stuff was established on Holland Road in Virginia Beach as a sister store of Video Game Heaven, complimenting the already vast selection of gaming products at those stores with a wider array of collectibles, including figurines, plushes, apparel, graphic novels, tabletop games, dice, and more; and
WHEREAS, Cool Stuff strives to provide a personalized experience for customers through its friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate staff members; and
WHEREAS, for many years, an orange tabby cat named Mango served as Cool Stuff's mascot, and his memory lives on through decals, pins, and apparel, embodying the spirit of the store as a beloved gathering place for local gamers and hobbyists; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Cool Stuff hereby be commended for its years of service to the community; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Cool Stuff as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the store's contributions to the vibrant economy in Virginia Beach.
