1319 WHEREAS, William Eugene Goodman, Jr., an accomplished entrepreneur and an active and beloved member of the Suffolk community, died on September 12, 2024; and

1521 WHEREAS, after graduating from Deep Creek High School in Chesapeake and studying business at Tidewater Community College, William Goodman established Quality Tires and Auto Care, LLC and Good Guys Enterprise; and

1723 WHEREAS, as a local businessman and philanthropist, William Goodman gave generously to the Suffolk community through outreach activities such as Christmas giveaways and back-to-school drives, his regular participation at John F. Kennedy Middle School's annual career day, and discounts for customers in need; and

1925 WHEREAS, William Goodman was committed to creating opportunities to empower individuals who had been recently incarcerated, helping them to achieve stability and success in their lives; and

2127 WHEREAS, William Goodman's love for and devotion to his family was boundless, and he enthusiastically supported them in all of their endeavors; and

2329 WHEREAS, William Goodman was guided throughout his life by his faith and enjoyed worship and fellowship with his communities at St. Paul Baptist Church in Suffolk, where he was involved with several ministries, and at Hope City Church in Suffolk, which he had recently joined; and

2531 WHEREAS, William Goodman will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his parents, William, Sr., and Annette; his children, Briana, William, Khalil, Wymeir, Serenity, and Kay; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

2733 RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of William Eugene Goodman, Jr., a cherished member of the Suffolk community whose kindness and generosity touched countless lives; and, be it

2935 RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of William Eugene Goodman, Jr., as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
