HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 605

Commending the Brentsville FFA.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 10, 2025

 

WHEREAS, the Brentsville FFA, the Future Farmers of America chapter at Brentsville District High School in Nokesville, was presented a National Chapter 3-Star Award by Future Farmers of America in 2024; and

WHEREAS, for 95 years, the Brentsville FFA has leveraged agriculture education to provide students with opportunities to explore new ideas, acquire experience, become impactful members of their school and community, and learn to advocate for themselves and the causes they support; and

WHEREAS, the Brentsville FFA received the National Chapter 3-Star Award, one of the organization's most prestigious honors, for incorporating all 15 FFA quality standards into their organizational activities and events; and

WHEREAS, the quality standards the Brentsville FFA achieved are organized across three divisions, including building communities, strengthening agriculture, and growing leaders; within these divisions, the standards are further organized into five categories, including citizenship, healthy lifestyle, career success, scholarship, and agriculture; and

WHEREAS, in addition to achieving the quality standards, the Brentsville FFA also had to earn the State Superior Gold Chapter Award to be eligible for its National Chapter 3-Star Award; and

WHEREAS, by preparing countless students to take charge of their futures and become the leaders of tomorrow, the Brentsville FFA has left a positive and lasting imprint on the Prince William County community and beyond; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Brentsville FFA hereby be commended for receiving the Future Farmers of America's National Chapter 3-Star Award; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Brentsville FFA as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the chapter's accomplishments and best wishes for its continued success.
