HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 606
Commending T. Clay Wood Elementary School.
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 10, 2025
WHEREAS, in 2024, T. Clay Wood Elementary School was selected by the U.S. Department of Education as a National Blue Ribbon School in the Exemplary Achievement Gap-Closing Schools category; and
WHEREAS, the National Blue Ribbon Schools program recognizes exceptional public and private elementary, middle, and high schools across the nation; T. Clay Wood Elementary School was one of 356 national winners and one of only eight schools in the Commonwealth to receive this prestigious honor; and
WHEREAS, T. Clay Wood Elementary School has fostered a culture of growth and innovation to ensure that every student has a supportive environment in which to grow socially, emotionally, and academically; and
WHEREAS, T. Clay Wood Elementary School has demonstrated a clear vision of instructional excellence and upheld the highest standards to ensure that students can achieve their fullest potential both in and out of the classroom; and
WHEREAS, the National Blue Ribbon School award is a tribute to the hard work and dedication of the students, faculty, staff members, and families at T. Clay Wood Elementary School; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That T. Clay Wood Elementary School hereby be commended on the occasion of its selection as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2024; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to T. Clay Wood Elementary School as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the school's commitment to academic excellence and student success.
