1319 WHEREAS, the Reverend Dr. Fernando Eugene Temple, Sr., of Varina, an inspirational faith leader who touched countless lives in Virginia and North Carolina, died on December 23, 2024; and

1521 WHEREAS, Fernando Temple grew up in eastern Henrico County and attended Henrico County Public Schools; he began to cultivate his deep faith at a young age as a member of First Bethel Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday school superintendent, deacon, and youth minister; and

1723 WHEREAS, after serving the nation for four years as a member of the United States Air Force, Fernando Temple returned to the Commonwealth and pursued a 25-year career as a driver and salesman with the Roadway Express trucking company; and

1925 WHEREAS, in 1980, Fernando Temple answered the call to the ministry and was licensed to preach at First Bethel Baptist Church; he was ordained in 1981 and began his pastoral career in 1982; and

2127 WHEREAS, Fernando Temple led the congregation of Brown Grove Baptist Church in Ashland as pastor for 20 years, then joined Parker's Grove Baptist Church in North Carolina in 2004; and

2329 WHEREAS, Fernando Temple provided his visionary leadership and wise insights to the Chickahominy Baptist Association of Hanover County and was a longtime member of the Hampton Ministers Conference, the Baptist Ministers Conference of Richmond and Vicinity, and the West Roanoke Missionary Baptist Association; and

2531 WHEREAS, Fernando Temple will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his beloved wife, Annelore; his children, Margaret, Christel, Fernando, Jr., and Yvonne, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

2733 RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of the Reverend Dr. Fernando Eugene Temple, Sr., a highly admired spiritual leader in Henrico County; and, be it
