1319 WHEREAS, Elizabeth S. Green has served the Suffolk community through her lifetime commitment to educating children and created the nonprofit organization Kidz Write For Kidz, Inc., to help young people enhance their reading and writing skills; and

1521 WHEREAS, Elizabeth Green is passionate about lifelong learning and worked in Norfolk Public Schools for more than 20 years as a teacher, instructional specialist, and gifted resource specialist; and

1723 WHEREAS, Elizabeth Green created Kidz Write For Kidz, Inc., to further develop children's reading, writing, and communication skills, through instruction, storytelling, and opportunities to write their own books; and

1925 WHEREAS, Elizabeth Green is herself an author with several published works, and her vision is to empower as many children as possible by enhancing their literacy skills and helping them gain self-confidence by creating and sharing their own literary works; and

2127 WHEREAS, Elizabeth Green has also promoted literacy in the community through her Driveway Lit program, which involves reading books on her driveway and back porch to children in her neighborhood; and

2531 RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Elizabeth S. Green hereby be commended for her contributions to young people as a teacher and as the founder of Kidz Write for Kidz, Inc.; and, be it
