2025 SESSION ENROLLED HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 677 Celebrating the life of the Reverend Robert Calloway Davis. Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 17, 2025 WHEREAS, the Reverend Robert Calloway Davis, an esteemed faith leader, accomplished educator, and beloved member of the Richmond community, died on January 27, 2025; and WHEREAS, Robert Calloway Davis served as pastor at Union Baptist Church in Richmond for 48 years and at Antioch Baptist Church in Richmond for nine years; and WHEREAS, as a faith leader, Robert Davis worked tirelessly to provide his congregation with uplifting and inspiring spiritual guidance while caring for the success and longevity of his church; and WHEREAS, as a social studies teacher with Richmond Public Schools, Richard Davis devoted himself to the academic, social, and emotional well-being of his students and supported his fellow faculty in their educational endeavors; and WHEREAS, preceded in death by his wife, LaVerne, Robert Davis will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his daughter, Denise, and by numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of the Reverend Robert Calloway Davis, a cherished member of the Richmond community whose integrity, compassion, and faith inspired all who knew him; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of the Reverend Robert Calloway Davis as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
