HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 703

Commending Sam and Shelly Hunt.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 20, 2025

 

WHEREAS, over the past 18 years, Sam and Shelly Hunt have touched the lives of countless young people and their families as the owners of Caterpillar Clubhouse, the largest childcare provider in the Lynchburg area; and

WHEREAS, Sam and Shelly Hunt opened the original Caterpillar Clubhouse in Rustburg in March 2007 to provide a unique childcare experience that helps children learn and grow in a supportive environment guided by Christian principles and values; and

WHEREAS, Sam and Shelly Hunt have grown Caterpillar Clubhouse from one location with an inaugural class of 43 children to five locations in Rustburg, Madison Heights, and Lynchburg serving 750 children; and

WHEREAS, Caterpillar Clubhouse is open to children of all backgrounds and offers a wide range of programs, including early childcare, before and after school care, summer day camps, and special activities; and

WHEREAS, Caterpillar Clubhouse coordinates with local schools and community partners to provide the finest care and create engaging opportunities for young people; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Sam and Shelly Hunt, owners of Caterpillar Clubhouse, hereby be commended for their work to provide outstanding child care services to the members of the Lynchburg community; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Sam and Shelly Hunt as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for their achievements on behalf of young people and their families.
