HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 743
Commending the Mechanicsville High School chapter of Future Farmers of America.
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 18, 2025
WHEREAS, the Mechanicsville High School chapter of Future Farmers of America is recognized for placing top five in student gardening, tire art, and career application competitions at the State Fair of Virginia in August 2024; and
WHEREAS, the Future Farmers of America (FFA) at Mechanicsville High School is orchestrated to develop agricultural leadership, cooperation, and citizenship in the Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, students of the Mechanicsville FFA have been successful in receiving scholarships and Virginia FFA degrees and continue their agricultural work throughout college and into the work force; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Mechanicsville FFA bolster the influence of their organization through annual sales of poinsettias, fruit, mums, and other plants; they also sponsored a supply drive for victims of flooding in Southwestern Virginia in fall 2024; and
WHEREAS, the success and contributions of the Mechanicsville FFA would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of their leaders, Cindy Green and Jessica Kreye; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Mechanicsville High School chapter of Future Farmers of America hereby be commended for its demonstrated dedication to promoting agricultural education and industries throughout the Commonwealth; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Mechanicsville High School chapter of Future Farmers of America as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the chapter's accomplishments and best wishes for its continued success.
