1319 WHEREAS, the Southside Swim League, established in 1965, has served as a cornerstone for aquatic sports, community engagement, and youth athletic development in the Commonwealth; and

1521 WHEREAS, the Southside Swim League's founding members, Sherwood Hills, Battlefield Park, Chester Recreation Association, Meadowbrook Country Club, Fort Lee, and Petersburg Country Club, laid the foundation for a legacy of excellence, sportsmanship, and community collaboration; and

1723 WHEREAS, over the decades, the Southside Swim League has evolved and expanded its membership, with milestones including the formation of the Petersburg Swim Association in 1996 through the collaboration of Battlefield Park and the Country Club of Petersburg and the reversion to its original identity in 2006; and

1925 WHEREAS, the Southside Swim League's history reflects a dynamic and inclusive organization, having welcomed teams such as the Jordan Point Country Club, River's Bend, South Bend, the Stoney Glen Swim Team, the Colonial Heights Swim and Yacht Club, and the Wood-Dale Swim Club; and

2127 WHEREAS, the current teams in the Southside Swim League include River's Bend, South Bend, the Stoney Glen Swim Team, the Colonial Heights Swim and Yacht Club, the Wood-Dale Swim Club, Chester Recreation Association, and Battlefield Park; and

2329 WHEREAS, the Southside Swim League consistently promotes competitive excellence, water safety, and the healthy development of its athletes, enriching the lives of many individuals and strengthening community ties across the region; and

2733 RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Southside Swim League hereby be commended for its outstanding contributions to the Southside community; and, be it

2935 RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Southside Swim League and its associated clubs as an expression of the House of Delegates' appreciation for their dedicated service and lasting impact on the lives of their athletes.
