HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 764

Celebrating the lives of Peter, Donna, Everly, and Alydia Livingston.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 18, 2025

 

WHEREAS, Peter, Donna, Everly, and Alydia Livingston, a supportive and caring family who were active members of the Ashburn community, died on January 29, 2025 aboard American Airlines Flight 5342; and

WHEREAS, Peter Livingston was born in Petersburg and grew up in Vienna, where he graduated from Oakton High School; he was a highly admired Realtor with Keller Williams Realty, who built strong relationships with home buyers and was recognized by the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors for his commitment to excellence; and

WHEREAS, Donna Livingston was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she built lifelong friendships with her fellow sisters of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority; she worked in marketing for Discovery Communications and AOL before joining Comcast where she excelled for 16 years; and

WHEREAS, Peter and Donna Livingston met in 2006 and were married in Jamaica in 2009; their first daughter, Everly, was born in 2010, and their second daughter, Alydia, was born in 2013; and

WHEREAS, Donna, Everly, and Alydia Livingston cultivated an enviable sense of style together and built an impressive collection of clothes, shoes, accessories, and arts and crafts supplies to make every day brighter; and

WHEREAS, a longtime hockey fan, Peter Livingston created a backyard ice rink one winter to teach his daughters to skate; the backyard rinks became an annual family tradition and inspired Everly and Alydia Livingston's passion for figure skating; and

WHEREAS, Everly and Alydia honed their talents at the Ashburn Ice House and were well known on social media; they competed at events around the country as members of the Washington Figure Skating Club and had dreams of one day representing Team USA in the Winter Olympic Games; and

WHEREAS, Peter and Donna Livingston did everything they could to fulfill their daughters' dreams, and they spent many joyful days together at figure skating events, demonstrating their incredible devotion to one another as a family; and

WHEREAS, the Livingston family will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by Peter's parents, Sterling and Martha Livingston; Peter's siblings, Albert and Sarah, and their families; Donna's mother, Mary Smojice; Donna's brother, Mark, and his family; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Peter, Donna, Everly, and Alydia Livingston; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to family members of Peter, Donna, Everly, and Alydia Livingston as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for their memories.
