A BILL to direct the Department of Medical Assistance Services to seek federal authority to provide supplemental payments to Medicaid members to be used for transportation to medical appointments when other transportation options are not available.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. 1. That the Department of Medical Assistance Services (the Department) shall seek necessary federal authority to implement the provision of supplemental payments to Medicaid members to be used for transportation to medical appointments when other transportation options are not available. The Department shall develop regulations for the provision of such payments, including under what circumstances such payments shall be authorized.
