Commending Belinda Black.

WHEREAS, Belinda Black, director of the Chemical Product Engineering Division of Canon Virginia, Inc., based in Newport News, received the Woman of the Year award from the Virginia chapter of Women in Manufacturing in 2024; and
WHEREAS, as the director of the Chemical Product Engineering Division of Canon Virginia, Belinda Black is fundamental to the success of a leading global manufacturer of office and consumer products; and
WHEREAS, the Virginia affiliate of Women in Manufacturing (WiM-Virginia) is dedicated to supporting, promoting, and inspiring women who are pursuing or have chosen a career in the manufacturing sector; and
WHEREAS, WiM-Virginia presented Belinda Black with its Woman of the Year honor in recognition of her efforts to advance the organization's mission; and
WHEREAS, Belinda Black's 30-year career in manufacturing, her commitment to mentoring and leadership, and her contributions to her field have earned her the highest honor conferred by WiM-Virginia; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Belinda Black for being named the 2024 Woman of the Year by the Virginia chapter of Women in Manufacturing; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Belinda Black as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for her achievements and contributions to manufacturing in the Commonwealth.
