1519 WHEREAS, in 2024, the Auburn High School volleyball team in Montgomery County earned its sixth consecutive state title with a victory in the Virginia High School League Class 1 state championship; and

1721 WHEREAS, the Auburn High School Eagles finished the season with a 292 record and defeated Rappahannock High School in the state final by scores of 2510, 2510, and 2516; and

1923 WHEREAS, the Auburn Eagles dominated play, quickly gaining double-digit leads over the Rappahannock Raiders and completing all three sets in less than an hour to secure the dynasty's latest achievement; and

21-WHEREAS, senior middle hitter Gretchen Surface scored a match-high 16 kills, while senior outside hitter Megan Earnest recorded 13 kills and 13 digs; junior Jayci Morrill facilitated multiple plays with 34 assists, and sophomore Kaylee Ramrattan added five aces; and

2731 RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Auburn High School volleyball team on winning the Virginia High School League Class 1 state championship in 2024; and, be it

2933 RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Sherry Millirons, head coach of the Auburn High School volleyball team, as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for this team's exceptional athletic achievements.
