1519 WHEREAS, Virginia Banton, a student at South Lakes High School in Fairfax County, was presented a Student Peace Award of Fairfax County in 2024; and

17-WHEREAS, the Student Peace Awards of Fairfax County were established in 2006 to annually recognize one junior, one senior, or a student group at each public high school in Fairfax County who has worked to promote peace in their community; and

1923 WHEREAS, Virginia Banton is the president of the South Lakes Best Buddies Club, a group dedicated to supporting students with intellectual and developmental disabilities by connecting them with other students to socialize and collaborate on projects; and

2529 RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Virginia Banton for receiving a 2024 Student Peace Award of Fairfax County; and, be it

2731 RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Virginia Banton as an expression of the General Assembly's high regard for her contributions to Fairfax County and the Commonwealth.
