1519 WHEREAS, Renee Shi, a student at Langley High School in Fairfax County, received a YoungArts award in the category of film from the National Foundation for the Advancement of Artists in 2025; and

1721 WHEREAS, Renee Shi enjoys writing, drawing, animating, and crocheting and is a two-time Scholastic Arts and Writing National Medalist; and

1923 WHEREAS, at a young age, Renee Shi has already produced several animated movies that have won best animated film awards at prestigious international film festivals and award ceremonies, including the London Festival of Cinema, the Golden Nugget International Film Festival, the All American High School Film Festival, the Busan International Kids and Youth Film Festival, the Top Indie Film Awards in Japan, and the Festival del Cinema dei Diritti Umani di Napoli; and

2731 RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Renee Shi for receiving a YoungArts award in 2025 from the National Foundation for the Advancement of Artists; and, be it

2933 RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Renee Shi as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for her achievements and best wishes for her continued success.
