2025 SESSION ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 321 Commending Trent Daniels. Agreed to by the Senate, February 22, 2025 WHEREAS, Trent Daniels, a sophomore at Gainesville High School, won three Virginia High School League Class 6 individual state championships for long-distance running in 2024; and WHEREAS, Trent Daniels competed in the state finals during the fall, winter, and spring seasons of the 2023-2024 school year; and WHEREAS, during the spring season for outdoor track and field, Trent Daniels won the boys' 3,200 meter run with a time of 9:03.63 on June 1, 2024, at John B. Todd Stadium in Newport News, and he also placed fourth in the boys' 1,600 meter run with a time of 4:19.21; and WHEREAS, during the winter season for indoor track and field, Trent Daniels won both the boys' 1,600 meter run with a time of 4:09.34 and the boys' 3,200 meter run with a time of 9:27.34 on February 26-27, 2024, at the Virginia Beach Sports Center; and WHEREAS, Trent Daniels' state titles came after he started the school year by qualifying for the cross country state meet during the fall season, when he placed 12th with a time of 16:12.00 on November 11, 2023, at the Oatlands Historic House and Gardens in Leesburg; and WHEREAS, Trent Daniels' achievements are the result of his hard work and dedication, the leadership and guidance of his coaches and teachers, and the unwavering support of his family and the entire Gainesville High School community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That Trent Daniels hereby be commended on winning three individual state championships for long-distance running during the 2023-2024 school year; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Trent Daniels as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's admiration for his achievements and best wishes for the future.
