Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to: 12
(1) establish a statutory requirement for public schools to adopt and 13
enforce inclusive policies aligned with Vermont Education Quality Standards; 14
(2) preemptively protect Vermont schools from implementing federally 15
mandated policies that conflict with State standards for equity and inclusivity; 16
and 17
(3) provide authority to the Vermont Agency of Education to issue 18
guidance and support schools in resisting discriminatory federal mandates. 19
