1818 It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont: 13
1919 Sec. 1. 10 V.S.A. § 4866 is added to read: 14
2020 § 4866. TAKING OF FURBEARERS; USE OF BAIT 15
2121 (a) As used in this section, “bait” means any animal, vegetable, fruit, or 16
2222 mineral matter placed with the intention of attracting wildlife. “Bait” does not 17
2323 mean animal, vegetable, or fruit matter placed by a person subject to the 18

2929 (b) No person shall take a fur-bearing animal by gun, bow and arrow, or 1
3030 crossbow with the use of bait. 2
3131 Sec. 2. 10 V.S.A. § 4502(b) is amended to read: 3
3232 (b) A person violating provisions of this part shall receive points for 4
3333 convictions in accordance with the following schedule (all sections are in this 5
3434 title of the Vermont Statutes Annotated): 6
3535 (1) Except for biological collection violations determined to be nonpoint 7
3636 violations under the rules of the Board, five points shall be assessed for any 8
3737 violation of statutes or rules adopted under this part except those listed in 9
3838 subdivisions (2) and (3) of this subsection. 10
3939 (2) Ten points shall be assessed for: 11
