Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to remove the 8
discretion of the court to sentence a defendant, upon a finding that the sentence 9
will serve the interests of justice, to serve less than the two-year minimum 10
prison term for a conviction of selling or dispensing a regulated drug with 11
death resulting. 12
