1616 Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to require a 11
1717 written notice regarding the presence of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl 12

1919 in the State effective July 1, 2026. It further proposes to prohibit the sale and 14
2020 distribution in the State of personal protective equipment and firefighting 15

3939 § 2494s. SALE OF PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND 11
4040 STATION WEAR CONTAINING PFAS 12
4141 (a) A manufacturer or other person that sells firefighting equipment to any 13
4242 person, municipality, or State agency shall provide written notice to the 14
4343 purchaser at the time of sale, citing to this subchapter, if the personal protective 15
4444 equipment or station wear contains PFAS. The written notice shall include a 16
4545 statement that the personal protective equipment or station wear contains 17
4646 PFAS and the reason PFAS are added to the equipment. 18
4747 (b) The manufacturer or person selling personal protective equipment or 19

5959 (a) A manufacturer or other person that sells firefighting equipment to any 7

6262 equipment or station wear contains PFAS. The written notice shall include a 10
6363 statement that the personal protective equipment or station wear contains 11
6464 PFAS and the reason PFAS are added to the equipment not sell, offer for sale, 12
6565 distribute for sale, or distribute for use in this State any personal protective 13
6666 equipment or station wear to which PFAS have been intentionally added. 14
6767 (b) The manufacturer or person selling personal protective equipment or 15
6868 station wear and the purchaser of the personal protective equipment shall retain 16
6969 the notice for at least three years from the date of the transaction. [Repealed.] 17
