Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to repeal the 6
Commissioner of Labor’s authority to recommend a subminimum wage for 7
individuals with a disability. 8
An act relating to repealing the Commissioner of Labor’s authority to 9
recommend a subminimum wage for individuals with a disability 10
It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont: 11
Sec. 1. 21 V.S.A. § 385 is amended to read: 12
§ 385. ADMINISTRATION 13
The Commissioner and the Commissioner’s authorized representatives have 14
full power and authority for all the following: 15

(5) To recommend a suitable scale of rates for learners, and apprentices, 17
and persons with disabilities, which may be less than the regular minimum 18
