Thatatemporaryrule,tobedesignatedbyRule9B,beadoptedtoreadasfollows:
Rule9B.TemporaryRuleRegardingElectronicParticipationinSenateSessions
(a)(1)SenateSessionsshallbein-person,exceptaSenatormayparticipate,debate,
deliberateandvotepursuanttheproceduresofSenateRule9Ainconcurrently
conductedelectronicsessionsonatemporary,emergencybasisif:
(A)theSenatorhastestedpositiveforordiagnosedwithCOVID-19andis
withinarequiredperiodofisolation;
(B)theSenatorhasCOVID-19symptomsandisawaitingtheresultsofa
diagnostictest;
(C)theSenatoristheprimarycaregiverforahouseholdmemberandthe
householdmemberisrequiredtobehomeduetooneofthereasonssetforthin
subdivisions(A)–(B)ofthissubdivision(1);or
(D)theSenatororthehouseholdmemberforwhichtheSenatoristhe
primarycaregiverhasatemporaryemergencyrelatingtocareorhealth.
(2)ASenatormayavailthemselvesofsection(a)(1)(D)fornomorethantwo
(2)consecutivedays.ASenatormayrequesttheRulesCommitteeapprovealonger
durationofparticipationundersection(a)(1)(D).
