2023 WISCONSIN ACT
AN ACT to amend 20.455 (2) (gr) of the statutes; relating to: position authorizations in the Office of School Safety
and making an appropriation.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in
senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
SECTION 1. 20.455 (2) (gr) of the statutes is amended
to read:
20.455 (2) (gr) Handgun purchaser record check;
checks for licenses or certifications to carry concealed
weapons. All moneys received as fee payments under ss.
175.35 (2i), 175.49 (5m), and 175.60 (7) (c) and (d), (13),
and (15) (b) 4. a. and b. to provide services under ss.
165.28, 175.35, 175.49, and 175.60.
SECTION 1m. 20.455 (2) (gr) of the statutes, as
affected by 2023 Wisconsin Act .... (this act), is amended
to read:

175.35 (2i), 175.49 (5m), and 175.60 (7) (c) and (d), (13),

SECTION 3.0Nonstatutory provisions.
(1) PROJECT POSITIONS FOR THE OFFICE OF SCHOOL
SAFETY. The authorized FTE positions for the department
of justice are increased by 14.2 project positions, to be
funded from the appropriation under s. 20.455 (2) (gr),
for the purpose of supporting and enhancing school
safety initiatives for the period beginning on January 1,
2025, and ending on October 1, 2025.
SECTION 3m.0Effective dates. This act takes effect
on the day after publication, except as follows:
(1) PROJECT POSITION FUNDING SUNSET. The treatment
of s. 20.455 (2) (gr) (by SECTION 1m) takes effect on
October 1, 2025.
