45 | 45 | | LAW REVISION COMMITTEE PREFATORY NOTE: This bill is a remedial legislation |

46 | 46 | | proposal, requested by the Department of Veterans Affairs and introduced by the Law |
---|
47 | 47 | | Revision Committee under s. 13.83 (1) (c) 4. and 5., stats. After careful consideration of |
---|
48 | 48 | | the various provisions of the bill, the Law Revision Committee has determined that this |
---|
49 | 49 | | bill makes minor substantive changes in the statutes, and that these changes are |
---|
50 | 50 | | desirable as a matter of public policy, or has determined that the statutes treated in this |
---|
51 | 51 | | bill are in need of revision. |

52 | 52 | | SECTION 1. 16.283 (1) (c) of the statutes is amended to read: |

53 | 53 | | 16.283 (1) (c) “Duly authorized representative" has the meaning given in s. |

96 | 96 | | disorder medical or mental health services and referrals to those services. |

97 | 97 | | NOTE: Under current law, the Department of Veterans Affairs must provide certain |

98 | 98 | | services related to post-traumatic stress disorder to service members and veterans. To |
---|
99 | 99 | | fulfill this requirement, the department may provide information on the availability of |
---|
100 | 100 | | medical services and referrals. SECTION 6 specifies that, if the department provides this |
---|
101 | 101 | | information, it must also include information on the availability of mental health services |
---|
102 | 102 | | and referrals. |

103 | 103 | | SECTION 7. 45.03 (13) (j) of the statutes is repealed. |

104 | 104 | | NOTE: SECTION 7 repeals an obsolete grant program to identify, train, and place |
---|
105 | 105 | | volunteers to assist certain persons who return to this state after serving on active duty. |

237 | 237 | | served in the U.S. armed forces at any time, and who has been honorably discharged |
