| 16 | 16 | | disability resource center or to the website of an ADRC or DHS for information |

| 17 | 17 | | regarding long-term care options counseling. The bill also requires DHS to make a |

| 18 | 18 | | long-term care options counseling referral letter available on its website for use by |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | health care providers. ADRCs provide information on various programs, counsel on |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | available options, and assist individuals in applying for certain programs and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | benefits, including participation in the Family Care program, which provides |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | community-based, long-term care services for frail elders and adults with physical, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | developmental, or intellectual disabilities. Options counseling is a decision support |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | service intended to empower older adults, adults with disabilities, and their families |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | and caregivers to make informed decisions about current or future long-term care |
