| 17 | 17 | | Current law prohibits a political subdivision (a city, village, town, or county) |

| 18 | 18 | | from prohibiting the use of or otherwise regulating pesticides, but provides |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | numerous exemptions. For example, a political subdivision may enact an ordinance |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | that regulates pesticides pursuant to a storm water management program or that |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | relates to the storage, treatment, or disposal of solid waste that contains pesticides. |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | The bill adds an additional exemption that allows a political subdivision to regulate |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | pesticides in order to protect pollinators and pollinator habitats. “Pollinator” is |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | defined in the bill as an insect that pollinates flowers. |
