1212 AN ACT to create 27.01 (7) (c) 13. of the statutes; relating to: free state park
1313 admission for veterans and gold star families.

1515 Under current law, no person may operate a vehicle in any state park or in
1616 certain other recreational areas on state land unless the vehicle displays a vehicle
1717 admission receipt.
1818 This bill provides that a vehicle admission receipt is not required for any vehicle
1919 occupied by a person who is a veteran under federal law or who qualifies under
2020 federal law for a gold star lapel button (commonly known as gold star family), which
2121 signifies that the recipient is the immediate family member of a member of the U.S.
2222 armed forces who died while serving during a time of conflict.
2323 For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as
2424 an appendix to this bill.
2525 The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
2626 enact as follows:
2727 SECTION 1. 27.01 (7) (c) 13. of the statutes is created to read:
2828 27.01 (7) (c) 13. Any vehicle, except a motor bus, occupied by a person who
2929 produces evidence that he or she is a veteran, as defined in 38 USC 101, or that he
