2023 Wisconsin Act 234 
[2023 Assembly Bill 965] 
Protesting at or Near the Home 
of a Judge or Justice 
This act prohibits picketing, parading, or demonstrating at or near a judge’s home with the intent to 
interfere with, obstruct, or impede the administration of justice or with the intent to influence a judge in 
the discharge of the judge’s duties. A person who does so is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor and subject 
to a fine not to exceed $10,000, a term of imprisonment not to exceed nine months, or both.  
The act defines “judge” as a person who currently is or who formerly was a Supreme Court justice, court 
of appeals judge, circuit court judge, municipal judge, tribal judge, temporary or permanent reserve 
judge, or circuit, supplemental, or municipal court commissioner. 
Effective date: March 29, 2024
