20	20	Relating to: condemning Hamas' barbaric attack against Israel.
21	21	Whereas, on October 7, 2023, Hamas, a United States-designated Foreign
22	22	Terrorist Organization, attacked Israel without provocation, murdering innocent
23	23	civilians in a ground assault and launching more than 4,500 rockets
24	24	indiscriminately; and
25	25	Whereas, this heinous attack by Hamas terrorists resulted in the murder of
26	26	hundreds of innocent civilians of all ages; and
27	27	Whereas, the evil actions of these terrorists resulted in the death of at least 14
28	28	innocent Americans, as well as many other foreign nationals; and
29	29	Whereas, Hamas terrorists have taken civilians hostage, resulting in the
30	30	abhorrent and inhumane treatment of innocent people, including many children and
31	31	elderly people; and

47	47	Whereas, this massive act of terrorism took place during Shabbat and the
48	48	Jewish holidays of Shemini Atzeret/Simchat Torah and one day after the 50th
49	49	anniversary of the start of the 1973 Yom Kippur War against Israel; and
50	50	Whereas, the Israeli people have suffered a violent attack, clearly designed to
51	51	maximize terror and harm to civilians, resulting in the largest mass slaughter of
52	52	Jews since the Holocaust; and
53	53	Whereas, this attack is yet another instance of the centuries-long persecution
54	54	and anti-Semitism that Jewish people have suffered; now, therefore, be it
55	55	Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin
56	56	State Legislature condemns the actions of Hamas' barbaric attack against Israel;
57	57	and, be it further
58	58	Resolved, That the Wisconsin State Legislature calls on Hamas to
59	59	immediately cease violent hostilities and return all hostages unharmed; and, be it
60	60	further
61	61	Resolved, That Wisconsin expresses its condolences and support to all affected
62	62	families; and, be it further
63	63	Resolved, That Wisconsin stands in solidarity with the Israeli people and
64	64	reaffirms its unwavering commitment to Israel's sovereignty and security.
