Relating to: mourning the loss of all Americans murdered by Hamas in its attack
against Israel and calling for the swift and safe release of Americans held
hostage and the return of Americans murdered.
Whereas, the United States government has confirmed 30 Americans killed, 13
unaccounted for, and numerous others held hostage as a result of Hamas's barbaric
attack against Israel on October 7, 2023; and
Whereas, a terrorist attack against Americans of this magnitude has not
occurred since September 11, 2001; and
Whereas, while the citizens of Wisconsin acknowledge the horrific attacks
against Jewish people and the State of Israel, we also recognize that this atrocity
targets the American people; and
Whereas, the Wisconsin State Legislature, as a collective body, condemns all
forms of anti-Semitic rhetoric on Wisconsin's college or university campuses; now,
therefore, be it

Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin
State Legislature implores President Biden and the United States government to
bring home all Americans murdered or held in captivity by Hamas; and
Be it further resolved, That the Wisconsin State Legislature stands behind
President Biden and the United States government in their efforts to support Israel's
defense forces in the battle to eradicate Hamas from the globe.
