2023 Assembly Joint Resolution 94 ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION Relating to: honoring the achievements of the Racine Raiders. Whereas, the Racine Raiders were founded in 1953 and are the oldest semipro football team in Wisconsin and the second−oldest semipro football team in the country; and Whereas, with 667 wins, the Racine Raiders have more wins than any other semipro team in the country and the fifth−most wins of any noncollegiate football team in the United States, trailing only the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, New York Giants, and the Pittsburgh Steelers; and Whereas, in 2023, the Racine Raiders joined the Gridiron Developmental Football League, went undefeated in the regular season with a record of 15−0, and won the national title; and Whereas, the Racine Raiders have won nine national titles—the most titles of any semipro football team—and, in 1989, were the first, and still only, semipro football team to win a world championship; and Whereas, the Racine Raiders are an essential part of Racine history and culture, playing at Historic Horlick Athletic Field, and are invested in promoting football and the enrichment of life to their local community; now, therefore, be it Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin Legislature join in honoring the Racine Raiders for their achievements and wish them future success on and off the football field.
