12 | 12 | | production and a thriving agricultural industry; and |

13 | 13 | | Whereas, agriculture is the second largest industry in Wisconsin—contributing |

14 | 14 | | approximately $105 billion to the state's economy—and a significant driver of |
---|
15 | 15 | | national and international exportation of agricultural products; and |
---|
16 | 16 | | Whereas, the agricultural sector plays a pivotal role in furnishing nutritious |
---|
17 | 17 | | food and other resources to the population; and |
---|
18 | 18 | | Whereas, certain states have enacted laws imposing production standards and |
---|
19 | 19 | | criteria for agricultural products that prohibit the sale of agricultural products that |
---|
20 | 20 | | do not conform to these arbitrary requirements; and |
---|
21 | 21 | | Whereas, such laws can have significant repercussions, potentially |
---|
22 | 22 | | destabilizing the U.S. food supply chain and hindering agricultural product sales; |

47 | 47 | | Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin |
---|
48 | 48 | | Legislature reaffirms its commitment to uphold farmers' right to establish |
---|
49 | 49 | | appropriate protocols for agricultural practices that align with the needs of their |
---|
50 | 50 | | farms; and, be it further |
---|
51 | 51 | | Resolved, That the Wisconsin Legislature steadfastly supports the |
---|
52 | 52 | | continuance of national commodity markets that permit farmers to sell their |
---|
53 | 53 | | agricultural products in any state. |
