1414 This bill provides a way for snowmobile clubs to erect signs that advertise
1515 certain nearby businesses along snowmobile trails on Department of Natural
1616 Resources land.
1717 Current DNR administrative rules relating to the use of DNR properties

2121 if the club does so under an agreement with DNR. Under the bill, DNR must enter
2222 into such an agreement with an interested club. The bill provides that a sign is
2323 eligible if it advertises only businesses that offer fuel, food, vehicle servicing, or
2424 lodging and that are accessible by snowmobile; it is placed only at a trail intersection;
2525 it contains only the name of the business, the type of service provided, the distance
2626 to the business, and an arrow showing the direction to the business; it meets all other
2727 requirements for snowmobile guide signs; and it is erected and maintained by the
2828 club. The bill prohibits DNR from charging a fee as a condition of entering into such
2929 an agreement.
