| 15 | 15 | | a Class A misdemeanor, and theft of property valued at more than $1,000 but not |

| 16 | 16 | | more than $5,000 is a Class I felony. |

| 17 | 17 | | Under current law, the penalty for a Class A misdemeanor is a fine of up to |

| 18 | 18 | | $10,000 or imprisonment for up to nine months, or both, and the penalty for a Class |

| 19 | 19 | | I felony is a fine of up to $10,000 or imprisonment for up to three years and six |
