1212 Under this bill, if a municipality broadcasts canvassing proceedings live in any
1313 election, including by live stream on the Internet, the municipality must record the
1414 broadcast, and the municipal clerk must retain the recording for 22 months.

1717 The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
1818 enact as follows:
1919 SECTION 1. 7.53 (5) of the statutes is created to read:
2020 7.53 (5) LIVE BROADCASTS. If a municipality broadcasts canvassing proceedings
2121 live in any election, including by live stream on the Internet, the municipality shall
2222 record the broadcast. The municipal clerk shall retain the recording for the period
2323 specified in s. 7.23 (1) (f), unless, in good faith, the municipal clerk is unable to retain
2424 the recording because the recording is maintained on an Internet video streaming

3535 service that goes out of business or is otherwise removed from the Internet, if the
3636 service has been in operation for at least 10 years and has at least 1,000,000 account
3737 holders at the time the municipal clerk posts the recording to the service.
